Calendar Guidelines 2017-10-03T12:23:37+00:00

All events listed on Lakeland Mom’s local event calendar must  be related to kids and/or families. Community events with kids entertainment/activities ARE eligible to be included even if the overall theme isn’t specific to kids.

Events must also meet at least one of the criteria below to receive a free calendar listing:

  • FREE to attend*
  • Sponsored or hosted by a City or County (this includes libraries, special events, etc.)
  • Sponsored or hosted by a non-profit (fundraising events are reviewed on a case by case basis and are rarely included)
  • General community events
  • Special seasonal holiday events with free or low-cost admission
  • Local performances, including colleges and high schools

*Events that are NOT eligible for a free calendar listing (even if admission is free) include: Political events for a specific candidate or party, parties or information sessions that are tied to a Direct Sales company, events that promote a business that hopes to profit in some way from the event or receive free advertising.

If you are unsure whether your event meets these guidelines, feel free to submit an event from our calendar page or contact us and we will help determine whether it can be included on our calendar. All listings are at the discretion of Lakeland Mom’s Editor, even if the criteria above are met.

Receiving a free listing on our calendar does not guarantee inclusion in our weekly newsletter, HELLO Weekend! posts or any social media promotion. We offer a featured event promotion beginning at just $199 per event, contact us for details.
