Lakeland Gives Back… as we head towards ThanksGIVING and Christmas, we are highlighting local organizations making a difference in our community that need volunteers and/or donations at the holidays and year round. We hope you’ll learn more about these groups and decide to be part of LAKELAND GIVES BACK! Imagine the impact we can make locally if each of Lakeland Mom’s 7,700+ Facebook fans and 12,000+ monthly website visitors donate just a few extra items or a few hours of their time this holiday season.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Adopt-A-Block – Few things bring change like consistency. The Adopt-A-Block program is about being a consistent presence in the community offering food, clothing, and services to the same area month after month. Our Adopt-A-Block teams serve in a designated area seeking out tangible needs and doing whatever it takes to build real relationships with those they serve. If you have a church group, such as a youth small-group or youth ministry, that you would like to get involved with consistent, life-changing mission, we would love to partner with you. We provide the materials and training, you just bring the team.

Street Reach – Our Street Reach outreaches empower hundreds of people from multiple churches and organizations to come together to blanket a community with love. During Street Reach events, volunteers distribute hundreds of bags of food, clean & mow large areas of the city, host kids carnivals, distribute truckloads of clothing, and much more!

Families are welcome to participate in both of these community outreach programs, you are not required to be part of a church group or larger organization. Please contact The Dream Center for more information!

NOTE: Program dates/times are subject to change after the publication of this post. Please contact The Dream Center for current program information and volunteer opportunities.
