Polk County Public Schools will continue providing meals for students during the summer. A new schedule and list of meal sites will go into effect June 1 through July 23.
**SCHEDULE CHANGE – Beginning on June 1, school lunch pick up will be on Monday and Thursday from 11am-1pm. Pick up locations have also been changed. Full details below.**
Polk County Public Schools will continue to provide breakfasts and lunches to children 18 years and under while school campuses are closed. Many of our students rely on free school breakfast and lunch provided through a federal program.
Lunches can be picked up at specific school sites between 11am-1pm on Monday and Thursday. Children will receive three breakfasts and three lunches each day so they are fed throughout the week.
PCPS no longer requires that children be present to receive meals. Although they prefer that children are present (to help ensure the meals are going to the right place), it is not required. If children are not present, please bring their school ID, or be ready to provide their names/schools to PCPS staff. This is necessary for record-keeping purposes.
Note that not all schools will be distributing lunches, but families are still welcome to visit any meal distribution site to receive food. It does not have to be the school you attend. This service is available to all Polk County children, including students of public, private and charter schools, and homeschool students.
