Event Details

Truck or Treat is back for 2019 and thanks to the AMAZING turn out we had last year, we learned lots about what to do to make this year’s event safer, easier to navigate, and even more fun than last year! The event has grown and will take place around the north bank of Lake Mirror and adjacent Fire Station 1. Maps with details will be posted soon, so be sure to check back. The event is open to everyone but is targeted to children ages 12 and under.

Truck or Treat is a free and fun halloween-themed family event hosted by the City of Lakeland, FL – Government public safety agencies: Lakeland Fire Department and LakelandPD.

Kids attending in costume is encouraged! Visitors will get to meet Lakeland firefighters and police officers, trick or treat at different fire apparatus and police vehicles, and learn lots about how to stay healthy and safe at different stops along Lake Mirror and adjacent Fire Station 1. There will be 14+ stops for children to collect candy, Halloween goodies, and safety giveaways.

There will be fun activities like a parade of costumes, a costume contest, prizes for first responder costumes, spooky dance-alongs, and much more; so be sure to join LFD and LPD October 28 for a fun night of learning how to have a safe trick-or-treating experience on Halloween night.

Parade of Costume and Costume Contest:
Starts at 6:30 PM. Registration is required. Open to the first 125 registrants registered before 6:15 PM. Follow signs for registration at event, near stage. The parade of costumes will help judges pick their finalist and winners. Prizes will be awarded for:

Scariest Costume
Cutest Costume
Best First Responder Costume
Most Creative Costume
Best Overall

The costume contest is targeted to children/teens 17-years-old and younger. Adults NOT allowed in costume contest. Sorry, but it is an event targeted towards children. Awesome public safety prize-packs and trophies will be awarded to winners in each category.

First-Responder Costumed Kids:
Be sure to stop by the designated area on your way out to pick up your special gift for representing your community heroes.

There will be lots of cool fire and police vehicles to see inside and out, as well as Firefighters and Police Officers to meet while you collect goodies at each stop.

More information will be posted as it becomes available so check back.

***Note*** We have stocked up on lots of goodies but due to demand, may run low, so please remember, goodies are first come first served and while supplies last.
