Upcoming Halloween, Thanksgiving, & Holiday Fun at Explorations V Children’s Museum

Explorations V Children’s Museum has a calendar full of kid-friendly fun happening in October, November and December. Don’t miss the opportunity to be part of Boo Bash, Kidsgiving, Pennies for Play, Blast Off, Try It, and many other special events planned just for YOU.

If you’ve never been to Explorations V, make plans this fall! It is is a hands-on, fun-filled adventure in learning for children and their families. Our Children’s Museum has three floors of kid-powered exhibits and programs where your kids can let their imagination run wild. Your child can put on a show as a news anchor or performer, shop in the Publix grocery store, be an astronaut or policeman, play in the tot spot, and so much more.

Boo Bash Fall Halloween Lakeland

Boo Bash
Saturday, October 27 from 10am – 5pm

Enjoy fun games, trick-or-treating, and costume parades in this day of silly spooks! Test your nerves in O is for Oranges. This favorite space will be turned into the Black Light Gallery, complete with neon wearables to guide your way.

Boo Bash is included in the cost of Explorations V Admission, and is FREE for Members.

Drop in anytime on October 27 for Halloween fun!

A Very Special Boo Bash
Wednesday, October 31 from 3pm – 5:30pm

Join Explorations V on Halloween afternoon for A Very Special Boo Bash! During this event, high sensory stimulants in exhibits will be lowered or turned off and non-candy prize alternatives will be available at trick-or-treat stations. Boo Bash is included in the cost of Explorations V Admission, and is FREE for Members.

Please no masks or weapons with your costumes.  The Museum appreciates being able to see your face at this event.

Kidsgiving
Monday, November 19 – Wednesday, November 21

Kidsgiving is a new initiative to bring kids together in and out of the Museum to give back to the community.

Explorations V is compiling a list of family-friendly volunteer opportunities with the help of United Way Agencies. This list will be available for families to find opportunities to volunteer together and make our community stronger. More details coming soon.

Sustainable Art Studio Half Day Drop Off
Monday, November 19 – Wednesday, November 21

Spend your Thanksgiving break at Explorations V Children’s Museum for half day mini-camps Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9am – noon.

The Sustainable Art Studio are drop-off, half day workshops lead by professional artist, Laurie Jahn.

$20 per session, 20% off for members.

Try It Exhibit
October 26 – Spring 2019

Step into a room where you meet challenges that stretch your muscles and creativity in a limited-time only experience, “Try It” at Explorations V Children’s Museum.  “Try It” features fitness-testing interactives developed by the Museum of Science and Industry and Snug Play, a system of large, kinesthetic construction pieces.

Pennies for Play – One Million Pennies Challenge
November – December

Explorations V Children’s Museum has a goal to collect 1,000,000 pennies! All pennies brought in go straight to admission programs for kids living in poverty.

Bring your pennies to the Museum or get involved by planning a collection contest with your school, office, or social club. The museum will come pick up your pennies too – just call (863) 687-3869.

Blast Off
Daily from December 26 – 31

Come out to Lakeland’s best kid-powered new year’s party at Exploration’s V Children’s Museum.  From foot-powered rockets to kid-tested party treats, Explorations V Children’s Museum is ringing in 2019 until the kids go back to school with daily toilet paper launches.

  • Make and create your own rocket then test it on our foot-powered launch pad
  • Practice making party treats on National Chocolate Covered Cherry Day
  • Write your new year’s resolution
  • And more!

Blast Off happens daily between December 26 – 31. Program times change daily so check out the Explorations V Calendar to plan your trip. More details coming soon.

Annual Memberships

A Membership to Explorations V provides a year of hands on fun and learning opportunities at the Museum. Annual Memberships also make an excellent Christmas or holiday gift! Family Memberships for 2 adults and up to 5 children start at only $90.

Explorations V Children’s Museum & Bonnet Springs Park

Did you hear the news? Explorations V Children’s Museum has been named the anchor institution at Bonnet Springs Park. This means Explorations V will be moving and we will have a brand new children’s museum for families in Lakeland and Polk County in the next 2-3 years!
