To honor the French language and culture during the internationally recognized La Francophonie month of March, the Polk Museum of Art is hosting a free-of-charge La Francophonie Celebration on Saturday, March 23, from 12-4 pm.
This French-focused education program sanctioned by the Organisation international de la Francophonie in Paris coincides with the closing of the Museum’s three-month long Edgar Degas: The Private Impressionist exhibition.
La Francophonie Celebration is a family-friendly event with fun for all ages honoring the internationally recognized day to celebrate French language and culture.
While all activities are kid-friendy, we are especially excited about the hands-on art activities and music and dance performances highlighted in the schedule below.

Throughout the afternoon, art activities for all ages and abilities will be offered in the Student Art Gallery. Participants will be given the option to create an observational pastel painting of a 3-D Eiffel Tower or a 2-D landscape image of France, Canada, Haiti, Belgium, Monaco, or Switzerland to take home.
All activities and performances are open to the public at no admission cost. French cuisine and beverages will available to purchase at outdoor food trucks positioned in the Museum parking lot, along with café tables and seating, for family dining.

About the Polk Museum of Art at Florida Southern College
The Polk Museum of Art at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida, is a not-for-profit academic fine art museum dedicated to promoting inspirational and engaging arts experiences for all.
