As Lakeland Regional Health (LRH) continues to monitor and respond to the Coronavirus pandemic, the not-for-profit health system is collaborating with the City of Lakeland to open the City’s first COVID-19 Drive-Thru Testing Center at the RP Funding Center, beginning Monday, April 20, 2020.

To ensure the safety of patients and team members, patients will need an appointment to be tested at the Drive-Thru COVID-19 Testing Center.

To receive an appointment, patients can have their providers simply fax (863.687.1106) or email (CentralScheduling@myLRH.org) an order for COVID-19 testing to Lakeland Regional Health.

Those who do not have a doctor’s order are encouraged to utilize Lakeland Regional Health’s new, dedicated COVID-19 Telehealth Service, debuting on Sunday, April 19, 2020, to be evaluated by a care provider and receive an order for testing, if warranted. More telehealth details below.

The Drive-Through Testing Center will be open weekdays for as long as Lakeland Regional Health’s testing kits remain in good supply.

Patients will drive into the RP Funding Center parking lot at 701 W Lime St and follow the signs while driving for Check-In, Registration, and Swabbing stops. All team members will be in full Personal Protective Equipment, and patients will be asked to wear a mask. The actual process takes approximately 15 minutes.

Samples will then be sent to a commercial lab for testing, and patients will be notified directly of their results.

More information and FAQ’s about the Drive-Thru Testing Center can be found at https://mylrh.org/drivethrutesting/.

The City of Lakeland generously provided the site, equipment, signs and law enforcement to ensure that the Lakeland community has a safe and convenient way to be tested at this time.

Lakeland Regional Health Respiratory Care Center

Lakeland Regional Health has also opened a dedicated Respiratory Care Center for those seeking an in-person evaluation. Located at the LRH Pablo Campus at 130 Pablo St (next to Southgate Shopping Center), the Respitory Care Center will solely offer care for adults and children ages 2 years and older experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 and other acute respiratory symptoms (cough, fever, sore throat, shortness of breath, nasal congestion). To ensure safety, all team members will be wearing full Personal Protective Equipment and patients will be provided with a mask. Care providers with extensive expertise in treating respiratory symptoms will be examining patients at the Respiratory Care Center.

Both scheduled and walk-in appointments are welcome. Patients will be assigned directly to an examination room upon entering the facility. Those who already have a prescription for COVID-19 testing from their physician are encouraged to call the Respiratory Care Center in advance at 863.284.5000, or see instructions above for a drive-up testing appointment, as testing may be able to be done from the comfort and safety of their vehicles.

The Respiratory Care Center is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week. To centralize care, testing will no longer be performed at Lakeland Regional Health’s Gateway Walk-In Care and Lake Miriam Urgent Care.

Lakeland Regional Health COVID-19 Telehealth Service

LRH is launching a new dedicated Coronavirus Telehealth service on Sunday, April 19, 2020. Telehealth provides many benefits to the community, including:

  • Timely care from the convenience of your own home
  • Reduced COVID-19 exposure for team members and patients
  • Access to highly skilled Lakeland Regional Health providers

The COVID-19 Telehealth Service, operated by Amwell, can be accessed through the website, https://myLRH.amwell.com. Patients will then be connected with Lakeland Regional Health Medical Staff physicians and advanced practitioners who will evaluate them and their symptoms and prescribe a COVID-19 test if needed.

When a COVID-19 test is ordered, the patient will be directed to the most appropriate Lakeland Regional Health testing location, and an appointment or call will be made to alert the facility. Currently, testing is being performed at our Drive-Thru Testing Center, Respiratory Care Center at Pablo Campus, and Emergency Department at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center.

The self-pay telehealth visit costs $49 and is available for those 18 years and older.
