Polk County Schools Lunch Pickup Locations – Summer 2021

School Lunch Polk County

Polk County Public Schools will continue providing meals for students during summer 2021. Meals are available to all Polk County children ages 18 and under, including students of public, private and charter schools, preschools, and homeschool students.

This summer there are three options for picking up summer meals for kids:

School Locations – Lunches can be picked up at specific schools between 10:30am-12:30pm each Thursday. A week’s worth of food will be distributed to children 18 and under at these locations. The last date for school locations is Thursday, July 15, 2021.

Community Curbside Pick-Up Locations – There will also be community curbside pick up locations across Polk County that provide grab and go meals. These sites are open Monday and Thursday and will give half a week’s worth of food on each day. The last date for community locations is Monday, July 26, 2021.

Daily Bus Stops – Daily bus stops will give one meal per day. The last date for daily bus stops is Monday, July 26, 2021.

No registration required to pick up meals at any of these locations. Children do not have to be present but if they are not, a form of ID will need to be presented for each child.

For updates and additional details visit the Polk County Schools Nutrition Facebook Page.

The Summer BreakSpot Program also provides free meals during the summer for kids 18 and under, all of these PCPS sponsored locations are listed on that website, plus some additional Summer Break Spot locations.

We also have a schedule of Mobile Food Pantry Pick-Up Locations where additional food is available at no cost.

Wondering why Polk Schools provide free meals during the summer?

Many children depend on school meals, creating a significant hunger gap during the summer months. Polk County Public Schools partners with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to feed children through its Summer BreakSpot nutrition program; funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.Source
