We know distance learning has been a challenge for many families – between multiple communication platforms, the loss of one-on-one classroom instruction, and parents not able to help with certain subjects {hello algebra!} – this can be a stressful time for parents who are worried about their child’s academics.

Many of our local tutoring and test prep services have converted to online tutoring. This is a great opportunity for your child to receive additional one-on-one instruction, especially in any subjects where they might be struggling. Tutoring is available for this last month of school, as well as through the summer months to be sure your child is caught up and ready for the next school year.

Check out our Lakeland Mom partners who are offering online tutoring and test prep.

Learning Resource Center

The Learning Resource Center is actively continuing their 1-to-1 tutoring services through distance learning. They continue to work with currently enrolled students AND have openings for new clients seeking academic help.

The Learning Resource Center can help by offering:

  • Highly-qualified tutors throughout Polk County
  • Assistance for different levels in a range of subjects
  • A sliding fee scale (based on the gross annual household income and number of household members – contact LRC for more info)
  • Flexible scheduling

The NWEA projects students may return next year with only 70% of the learning gains in reading relative to a typical school year, less than 50% of the learning gains in math, and in some grades, nearly a full year behind what we would observe in normal conditions. Don’t allow your student(s) to fall behind!

Visit the Learning Resource Center website to learn more about LRC’s 1-to-1 Tutoring or call 863-688-9477.
