The Lakeland Black History Festival has been rescheduled to Saturday, March 23, 2024, due to the expected inclement weather over the originally scheduled date of February 17.
Join the City of Lakeland to celebrate Black History Month at the annual Black History Festival in Jackson Park on Saturday, March 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be artisan vendors, food trucks, kids’ activities, and more for families to enjoy.
Many forms of entertainment will be on the mobile stage, from dance to spoken word. Inside the Coleman-Bush building, the City will be highlighting the history of the building and neighborhood, including the namesakes of the building and Park. With support from the Lakeland History & Culture Center and the Coleman-Bush Boosters, the City is excited to share a dynamic display and interactive touchscreen experience to immerse yourself in some of the pioneers in Lakeland’s Black community.
You don’t want to miss the Jackson Park Black History Festival! This is a free event open to the public, and there is something for all ages. Whether you browse the vendor area, play in a bounce house, or grab a FREE plant at the Parks and Rec. tent, you will surely have a good time!
There will be a variety of vendors selling their wares ranging from clothing and handbags to books and candles – visit the city website to apply to be a vendor.
