Polk County Animal Control has dogs and cats of many sizes and breeds available for adoption! We recommend that you come and look as our selection changes daily and our adoptions are on a first come, first served basis. You may also visit our website to view the animals in our shelter. If you find something you are interested in visiting, please bring the animal ID number with you so that we may locate that particular animal for you.

We gratefully accept any and all material and monetary donations intended for the health and comfort of the animals housed in our shelter. Material donations can be any household items such as:
old towels and linens, dog and cat beds, pet toys, old dog and cat transport crates, bird and small animal cages, newspapers, etc. The veterinary staff is always in need of workable gently-loved medical equipment, bandages, and other medical supplies. You’d be surprised at what can be adapted to help the animals in our care.

SPCA Florida provides caring, compassion and hope to homeless animals, and is also home to a veterinary clinic.
Donations can be dropped off at the Adoption Center during normal business hours.

Used blankets and towels can be repurposed for animal crate beds.
