As many as one in six U.S. children between the ages of 6 and 17 has a treatable mental health disorder. Being able to identify the signs and symptoms of mental health challenges and mental illnesses through Peace River Center’s Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training can help parents and caregivers ensure their loved ones get the care they need.
This large-scale MHFA training event, which includes lunch from Terrie Lobb Catering, is provided at no cost thanks to grant funding from Florida Blue Foundation. Space is limited though, so register today to reserve your spot. Depending on space, attendees can select if they want to participate in breakout sessions geared towards Youth Mental Health or Adult Mental Health. All sessions will provide beneficial for expanding individuals’ knowledge about mental health and resources.
Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based course that teaches participants about mental health and substance-use issues. Attendees can file independently for up to eight (8) continuing education units (CEU) credits for this training. Check out Mental Health First Aid for more detailed information, including a few of the common national accrediting bodies.
