Event Details

Neighborhood Story Time is a program from Polk County Parks & Recreation designed to promote family literacy among families with pre-school age children up to 6-years old.
The free interactive experience takes place the Medulla Resource Center from 10 a.m. – Noon.
• Sept. 15* – How do Dinosaurs eat their food? by Jane Yolen (book will be read in English and Spanish in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month)
• October 20 -Sparky the Fire Dog by National Fire Protection
Association
• November 17 – Bow Bow Pow Wow By Brenda J. Child
• December 15 – Only You Can Save Christmas by Adam Wallace
At each event, an engaging costumed character will read stories from a beloved children’s book. Hands-on activities will follow the readings. Snacks will be provided to celebrate the theme of each children’s book.
