For more than 60 years, Kumon’s after-school academic enrichment program has helped children achieve success worldwide.

The Lake Wales Arts Council offers fine arts programs for kids and adults in the fall, spring, and summer.  Scholarships, multi-enrollment discounts, and payment plans are available. Includes visual arts, digital arts, choir, orchestra, painting & pottery, and more.

The hallmarks of LCS are strong academics, championship athletics, award-winning fine arts, and a close-knit school-family partnership. Classes are taught from a Biblical perspective, emphasizing God’s truth as it applies to every aspect of a student’s life. The Discovery Program is offered to students age 5-14 with a specific diagnosis of autism and/or related disabilities.

Lakeland Community Theatre boasts a Main Stage season of five high quality productions; The Eunice Fuller Theatre for Youth three show season as well as classes, summer camps, workshops, Master Classes; The Out of the Box Troupe for special needs youth and adults, a Senior Troupe and many special productions and events each year.

Lakeland Homeschool PE offers classes for students age 5 (as of Sept. 1) – 12th grade. To become a member, come out to the park and sign up. Tuesdays, 9 – 10:30 AM at Lake Parker Park, Entrance 2 at the soccer fields. Check FB page for updates and start date. Students participate in exercise, team sports, fun, and friendship. This is a true co op, parents participate and do not leave while students attend PE. Cost is $5 per child annually, with a family cap of $25.

Our Arena in the heart of Lakeland offers year-round public ice skating as well as Professional Coaching for both Figure Skating and Ice Hockey, all Hockey Camps, Tournaments and Special events, Elite Level Hockey Opportunities, Organized Travel Hockey Programs, Rec hockey, Ice Skating Camps, Spaces for Parties and special events.

The Lakeland Institute for Learning is a clinical school for ESE and ELL students whose purpose is to deliver services to students within the educational setting in order to facilitate their overall health and well being and maximize their academic growth. These students fall into two areas: special needs and those who are also English Language Learners (ESE) (as defined by law). The school is striving to deliver Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), Speech Language, and tutoring services to students during their school day, within a rigorous educational environment to facilitate academic growth into postsecondary opportunities.

Lakeland Montessori Schoolhouse and Lakeland Montessori Middle are Polk County Charter Schools serving children age 3 through 8th Grade. It is our mission to facilitate the well-rounded, advanced and challenging authentic Montessori curriculum that instills a sense of wonder and awareness about the universe and the child’s place within that universe. We wish to provide an educational environment that sparks curiosity and nurtures a love of learning along with teaching the skills to succeed academically.

The Lakeland Public Library is a member of the Polk County Library Cooperative, an inter local agreement between 13 municipalities with public libraries and the Board of County Commissioners, enabling all residents of the county, including those in the unincorporated area to have library services. Lakeland School Of Music is Lakeland’s largest music school with over 14,000 lessons taught annually. We offer music lessons in over 25 different instruments, and have 16 dedicated music teachers on staff, ready to serve you and your family. Guitar, Piano, Singing, Voice, Drums, Violin, & more. Lakeland School of Music also offers Music Fun Time, an innovative and proven early childhood curriculum for kids 18 months to 7 years old.

The Lakeland Symphony Orchestra is a Lakeland-based arts organization that produces and presents symphonic performances, ensemble concerts, school-based outreach, interactive family events, and an annual opera as part of a mission to connect, enrich, engage, and entertain. Formerly the Imperial Symphony Orchestra or ISO.

Lakes Academy is a ministry of Lakes Church and will be launching as new school for the 2022-2023 school year.  The mission of Lakes Academy is to provide students with a Christ-centered environment, where they can receive a quality education with a biblical worldview. Our goal is to equip students to be “more than conquerors” for the Kingdom of God.

The Learning Resource Center of Polk County helps students maximize their learning potential through year-round one-to-one tutoring, SAT and ACT test prep, study skills courses for middle and high school students, after-school programs, summer programs for all ages including Camp READY! for rising kindergartners, and more.

Legacy Prep Christian Academy is a STEM Exploration Academy and Christian Microschool serving children ages PreK3 through 3rd grade.

Lighthouse is a cooperative of parents that strives to meet the needs of the families within the group. Field trips, educational events, social activities, and parent/teacher support are the major focus of the group. Lighthouse is a Christian led organization but is not an exclusively Christian group.

The mission of Main Street Homeschool Auxiliary is to promote curiosity and creativity in a supportive community of learners. We supplement the work you do at home by offering workshops for a variety of age groups, from preschoolers to adults. Our classes are small, project-based endeavors where the children are actively engaged in topics as wide-ranging as their interests.

Mathnasium is your neighborhood math learning center for students in 2nd through 12th grade. We began with a powerful idea: Teach kids math in a way that makes sense to them, and they’ll actually enjoy math. When math makes sense, kids want to do more of it, building their confidence and setting them on the fast track to math mastery.

Mi Escuela Montessori is a tuition-free, K-8 public charter school in Polk County, Florida, and also has The Children’s House (Casa) preschool for children ages 3–6 (sliding scale tuition). Mi Escuela Montessori fuses two well-researched and innovative approaches to education:  the educational program developed by Dr. Maria Montessori and the two-way, dual-language immersion program advocated by most language learning experts.

It is the belief at the Mulberry Cultural Center that everyone has a story to share. Through exhibits and programming, the Mulberry Cultural Center wants to tell those stories in a fun and engaging environment. Every six weeks a new exhibit is displayed in the main gallery with ongoing programs available for the whole family.

Mulberry Phosphate Museum which houses an outstanding collection of fossilized remains, area memorabilia, and educational exhibits on the Phosphate Industry. You will experience the Earth’s past, viewing the remains of various types of marine life as well as reptiles and mammals dating back millions of years. Dig for sharks teeth and fossils in our outdoor pile!

I believe a well-rounded approach to piano instruction is important. I teach technique, ear-training, sight reading, performance, theory, ensemble and accompaniment techniques, and improvisation. Whether students are headed toward music study at a university, or taking piano lessons for their own enjoyment, they will receive quality instruction in those 8 areas. WunderKeys program for ages 3-5.
