Indoor Ice Skating Rinks in Lakeland + Central Florida
Ice Skating is one of my favorite activities! When I was a teenager, I spent many hours ice skating at the RP Funding Center in Lakeland.
The RP Funding Center in Lakeland is no longer hosting holiday skating, however, you can ice skate year-round right here in town at Lakeland Ice Arena. They offer public ice skating in Lakeland, as well as ice skating lessons, competitive hockey leauges, and more. Also a great option during Thanksgiving or Christmas breaks when you’re feeling especially festive and winter-y.

Ice Skating Tips
- Dress for cold weather! Most indoor rinks average between 40-60 degrees. Pants are good for beginners who might fall often.
- Wear tall socks so the skates don’t rub your lower legs. Ankle socks or multiple pairs of socks can cause blisters.
- Many places recommend kids wear a helmet when they are learning. Bring a bicycle helmet with you.
- Be sure your skates fit and are tied snug to support your ankles.
- Have fun!
