Nothing says SUMMER like 4th of July festivities, picnics, family fun, baseball, live entertainment and FIREWORKS!

We’ve got a list of all the places to find Independence Day Celebrations in Polk County, including Lakeland, Winter Haven, Auburndale, Haines City, Bartow, Lake Wales, Davenport, Lake Alfred, and even LEGOLAND Florida. Click on the name of any event to get more details. 

Many 4th of July events have been canceled for 2020, but there are still some local fireworks displays within 30 minutes of Lakeland. Details on canceled events can also be found in the list below. 

If you prefer to skip the crowds, have little ones who won’t last until fireworks, or just want to relax after a day of picnics and barbecues, we also have a list of nationally televised fireworks shows at the bottom.

We’ve also been asked about beach fireworks, from our research it seems that fireworks in Anna Maria, Clearwater, St. Pete, and Tampa have all been canceled for 2020.

Davenport 4th of July Fireworks Display

Where: Davenport Blvd., Davenport, FL (MAP IT)

The City of Davenport is hosting a 4th of July Fireworks Display beginning at 9:15pm on July 4, 2020. It will be held along Davenport Boulevard with Radio Synchronized Music.

This year’s Fourth of July event will be a scaled-back event due to the COVID-19 social distancing guidelines. (All entertainment has been canceled)

The fireworks show will be setting the sky ablaze from the highest location in Davenport making it possible for residents and visitors to enjoy the display from their vehicles or homes. Vehicles are encouraged to park along/near Davenport Boulevard/surrounding areas for the best views available.

Look for the “Light Beams” in the sky, which will be set prior to the event to help guide those attending. Please Note – If you can see the light beams, you will be able to see the fireworks show. “Radio Synchronized Music” details will be released as soon as it is available, follow on Facebook for updates.

Dundee 4th of July Fireworks Display

The Town of Dundee will host a Drive-In Fireworks Celebration (fireworks only) at approximately 9:20pm. Watch the show from the comfort of your home or vehicle. Fireworks will be launched from Lake Marie. MAP IT

LEGOLAND Red, White & Boom – 4th of July Fireworks

When: Saturday, July 4, 2020
Where: LEGOLAND Florida in Winter Haven – 1 Legoland Way, Winter Haven, FL 33884 (MAP IT)

Celebrate America’s Independence as the skies above Lake Eloise fill with one of the biggest fireworks shows of the year! Before the sun goes down, help create a giant U.S. flag out of thousands of LEGO bricks. Included in park admission.

Red, White & Kaboom in Lakeland

Where: Lake Mirror Promenade – Parking in the City Garage at Lakeland Electric, downtown, or around Lake Mirror area (MAP IT)

The T.Mims Corp. Red, White & Kaboom Independence Celebration will take place with live music at Lake Mirror along the Frances Langford Promenade on Wednesday, July 3rd from 6:00 p.m. – 9 p.m. with a breathtaking fireworks display dazzling the crowd at 9 p.m.

Lakeland Flying Tigers Game with Fireworks Extravaganza

When: CANCELED for 2020.
Where: Publix Field at Joker Marchant Stadium – 2301 Lakeland Hills Blvd, Lakeland, FL 33805 (MAP IT)

Celebrate America by participating in America’s pastime, a game of baseball! The Flying Tigers play at 5pm on July 4th, gates open at 4pm. The Flying Tigers players and coaches will be wearing their special Patriotic theme jerseys during the game. Around 9 PM the Tigers will illuminate the skies of Lakeland with a spectacular fireworks show! Rock N’ Freedom Fest in Winter Haven

Where: Martin Luther King Jr Memorial Park in Winter Haven – 199 E Lake Silver Dr NE, Winter Haven, FL 33881 (MAP IT)

City of Winter Haven City Commissioners agreed to postpone the Rock N’ Freedom Fest event celebrating Independence Day, to a family event on Labor Day weekend. More information to come as new plans are developed, check FB for details.

Rock N’ Freedom Fest is the City of Winter Haven’s Annual Independence Day celebration! Taking place in Martin Luther King Jr. Park on the shore of Lake Silver. Live music, kids activities, bounce houses, kayaking on Lake Silver, food trucks, LOTS of great vendors and a Cypress Gardens Water Ski Team show at 7:15pm. There will be a fireworks display over the lake starting at 9 pm. FREE to the public!

Thunder on the Ridge in Haines City

Where: Lake Eva Park – 555 Ledwith Ave, Haines City, FL 33844 (MAP IT)

One of the largest one-day family friendly events in Polk County. Over 30,000 people come from Polk County and beyond to participate in the festivities, food, live music, games and shopping at craft and community booths. Event features entertainment, arts & crafts vendors, a beer garden, food concessions and children’s activities. The evening will wrap up with a HUGE Fireworks display. 

Auburndale 4th of July Fireworks Display

Where: Lake Ariana Park – 2215 Lake Ariana Blvd, Auburndale, FL 33823 (MAP IT)
Due to the recent spike in cases of COVID-19, the City of Auburndale is postponing the annual fireworks display on Lake Ariana until Labor Day Weekend (the first weekend in September). We appreciate your patience as we prioritize the public health, safety and well-being of our city’s residents and visitors.

4th of July Celebration in Bartow

Where: Mosaic Park Bartow – 2250 S Floral Ave, Bartow, FL 33830 (MAP IT)

The Bartow Adult Concert Band kicks off the day with a patriotic concert at the Bartow Civic Center from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. Admission is free and seats are first come, first served. Bartow’s annual 4th of July Celebration will be held at Mosaic Park, beginning at 4:00 p.m. Guests will enjoy a full lineup of live music, food vendors, games, and much more. Fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m.

Celebrate America: Mulberry’s Independence Day Party

Where: Spence Park, Mulberry

Lake Wales 4th of July Festivities

Where: Lake Wailes Park – 33 N Lakeshore Blvd, Lake Wales, FL 33853 (MAP IT)

The Independence Day Celebration will be on Wednesday, July 4th from 2pm – 9pm on the Shores of Lake Wailes. The fireworks will begin at 9:15pm. Music, games, pony rides, face painting, food, and much more. Free parking & free admission for all!

Boston Pops Salute to Our Heroes on July 4th

Affectionately known as “America’s Orchestra,” the Boston Pops is the most recorded and arguably the most beloved orchestra in the country. A Boston Pops Salute to Our Heroes will feature newly created content from the Boston Pops and guest artists, as well as highlights from recent presentations of the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular. July 4 at 8:00PM on Bloomberg Television or live stream online.

A Capitol Fourth – A Star-Spangled Birthday Party — Live From the U.S. Capitol!

Capital Concerts has announced the 40th anniversary presentation of A Capitol Fourth, the national July 4th TV tradition on PBS. This year’s show is co-hosted by John Stamos and Vanessa Williams. The nation’s 244th birthday celebration will feature new performances from iconic locations across the country, including Washington, D.C, New York, Nashville, Los Angeles and Philadelphia, as well as highlights from the concert’s forty-year history and the stirring patriotic favorites viewers enjoy on the Fourth of July. Watch LIVE on PBS on July 4 from 8:00 – 9:30pm EST.

Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular over the Hudson River in NYC

The centerpiece of this breathtaking, 2-hour LIVE summer special is the nation’s largest patriotic pyrotechnic display, with over 40,000 fireworks illuminating the night sky over the Hudson River. The nation’s top musicians perform their hottest hits, and the biggest Hollywood stars are on hand to help honor Independence Day. Tune into NBC on July 4, 2020 at 8pm.
