Lakeland Concert Band Valentine’s Day Concert (FREE)

The Lakeland Concert Band entertains and inspires Lakeland area residents young and old with concerts from November through April. Concerts are FREE and often include themed seasonal music!

  • See if your family has what it takes to solve the challenges and escape at Lakeland Escape Room Lakeland or Escapology Lakeland.

  • Plan a trip to the Movies 
  • Treat your soccer fan to a Florida Tropics game on February 16
  • Surprise the basketball fan in your house with tickets for a Lakeland Magic game on February 5, 8, 11, 13, 20, or 22
  • Sign up for a FRamily Paint Night or Mommy & Me class at Art Centric Studio
  • Surprise your kids with an unexpected trip for ice cream or cupcakes (we’ve got a list of places!)

  • Head to Hole in One Donuts, Dunkin Donuts, or Krispy Kreme for a sugar filled breakfast treat!
  • Feed the ducks at Lake Morton
  • Go on a bike ride (City of Lakeland has a great bike trail map)
  • Look for alligators, eagles, and other amazing wildlife at Circle B Bar Reserve– named one of the “Top 51 Places in the US to See Wildlife” by USA Today! Entry is FREE.
  • Check out the new Se7en Wetlands Park
  • Hike, bike, picnic, canoe, kayak, or fish at Colt Creek State Park in the heart of the Green Swamp Wilderness area north of Lakeland.
  • Visit Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales to explore the children’s garden, see the flowers blooming, hear the carillon playing, and enjoy nature. Read our review of Hammock Hollow Children’s Garden.
  • Visit Lake Crago Dog Park or Dog Leg Woods Dog Park on Cleveland Heights (fun to watch even if you don’t have a dog)
  • Stroll through Hollis Garden and learn about the variety of flowers and plants there. Opens at 10am, closed Mondays.
  • Walk around Lake Hollingsworth (only if your kiddos can handle the 3 miles!)
  • Dig for sharks teeth and fossils at the Mulberry Phosphate MuseumMake sure you bring a small shovel or other item to dig through the rock pile, and something to sit on – you won’t want to kneel.
