Buckingham Terror Haunted House (Camp Fire)

Buckingham Terror presents “Twisted Forest: Beware the Witches’ Vengeance.” These cursed woods are a legend among locals. Nearby residents whisper tales of the curious who have entered the forest only to never be seen again. And those who do reemerge share tales of unimaginable horrors and encounters with disfigured, humanoid beasts. Come to Lakeland’s best Haunted House and discover what becomes of those who are lost in the Twisted Forest.

About Buckingham Terror: Since 2002, Buckingham Terror, a program of Camp Fire Sunshine, has provided frightful entertainment for the Lakeland community. In addition, 150+ local middle and high school students have the unique opportunity to design, build, and run a haunted house. Funds raised from the Buckingham Terror program support teen programs throughout the year. Collectively, teens earn over 1,000 service hours during the construction and operation of the haunt. And with the help of staff and adult volunteers, they learn project management, effective goal setting, and the importance of a growth mindset. Learn more.

Halloween Movies & Scare Zones at Silvermoon Drive-In

Silvermoon Drive-In will show a variety of Halloween movies and scary movies in October. Scare actors in dedicated scare zones will be at some of the movies. Check the Silvermoon website or Facebook page for details.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office Haunted Jail Tour: Zombie Outbreak

This Haunted House in Bartow is located in a jail. What could be spookier?? Unfortunately the Polk County Haunted Jail Tour is canceled for 2020.

Dates & Times: Not Opening in 2020.

Cost: $6 – all proceeds benefit the United Way For the little ones who are too young to go through the haunted jail, there will be a separate room with treats and games! Bring the whole family for a night of fun.

Zombie Farm Paintball Hayride (at Cornfusion Lakeland)

Zombie Farm Paintball at Smith Family Ranch was closed in 2019, Cornfusion will be closed for 2020. – website.

Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail and Ominous Descent

Sir Henry’s Haunted Trail is an outdoor haunted trail experience located in Plant City, between Tampa and Orlando. Sir Henry’s offers several different experiences for guests to satisfy their Halloween haunted house cravings, including three haunted trails. Laser tag and the escape game will not be open during the 2020 season. Masks are required.

Scream-A-Geddon in Dade City

Howl-O-Scream at Bush Gardens

Tampa Bay’s premier Halloween event is preparing to return in a whole new way this fall with the 21st annual Howl-O-Scream. This year’s modified production will be unlike any other, including significantly enhanced safety and health measures at the core of the event. The event will be modified to feature open-air scare zones, limited-capacity admission with reservations required, and physical distancing. Howl-O-Scream is a separately ticketed event. Protective face coverings will be required.

One of the best family Halloween events in Tampa, Creatures of the Night is a mostly outdoor event with spooky scares and unforgettable eerie frights for ghouls & goblins of all ages. This family-friendly event is themed around campfire tales and features several new outdoor Halloween experiences and spooky characters.

Scream n’ Stream Drive Thru Haunt at Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures

Ever heard of a Haunted Airboat Tour in Florida? That’s just one of the socially distanced Halloween options at Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures in Kissimmee. You can also experience Night at the Die-In as you drive your car straight into a horror movie. This 25-minute experience will take you through a dark forest road lined with live performers and scary props and audio. {Parental discretion advised!}

The Haunted Road in Orlando – Drive Thru Halloween experience

Drive through this contactless Halloween event in Orlando if you dare. Twisted creatures. Immersive theatrical storytelling. Bloodcurdling encounters. The nighttime experience is estimated to take 40 minutes once you enter The Haunted Road {How it works – you’ll drive from scene to scene, park, and then watch as scary scenes come to life right outside your vehicle. There will not be any scares while your car is moving.}

Haunted Road Family Friendly Experience – A daytime version of The Haunted Road will be available on select weekends. This not-too-scary adventure takes you on a 30 minute lively journey through the Enchanted Forest, where you’ll meet some of your favorite fairy tale creatures right from your vehicle.

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios

Universal Orlando takes fear to the max. At this year’s all-new Halloween Horror Nights the 80s return with a vengeance, bringing with them some of the biggest frights of the era. Make your way through 10 totally terrifying haunted houses, survive five pulse-pounding scare zones and experience outrageous live entertainment. From cinematic screams to the most horrifying cult classics, there’s no escape from the decade that just won’t die. Plus a brand new Stranger Things Haunted House.

When: Halloween Horror Nights has been canceled for 2020.

We don’t know of any haunted hayrides or haunted corn mazes in Central Florida, but Long & Scott Corn Maze near Orlando is open a few nights in October.
