Spring is in the air which means an abundance of events on the calendar! March is one of our favorite months to get out of the house and enjoy community activities and make family memories.

There are so many fun things to do in Lakeland with kids, but this is our Top 10 list of things to do in March to help you make sure the “can’t miss” activities are on your calendar. If you enjoy one of these events, be sure to let the venue know that you heard about it from Lakeland Mom.

St. Patrick’s Day Festivities

St. Patrick’s Day is March 17 and we’ve got a list of activities to celebrate the Irish and get into the St. Patty’s Day spirit. Find events in Lakeland, Winter Haven, and Polk County area, plus restaurants serving Irish Food.

Family-friendly events include a FREE St. Patrick’s Day Concert with the Lakeland Concert Band, a St. Patrick’s Day Celebration in Winter Haven, the “UNParade” in Bartow, and more. (Some events have not been announced for 2022, we will update as we receive info)

Browse Artwork at a Local Art Show

Polk County is home to multiple annual art shows that host artists from all over the state and even the country. Three local favorites happen in March:

Saturday, March 4 and Sunday, March 5 – Enjoy beautiful artwork at the Bloomin Arts Festival in Bartow.

Saturday, March 18 and Sunday, March 19 – Head to the Central Park Art Festival in Winter Haven for fine arts and crafts.

Spend an Evening or Saturday morning in Downtown Lakeland

Spring Obsession

Spring Obsession is an annual celebration of garden, art, and music. You can buy plants or art, listen to jazz, have a tasty snack, and enjoy Downtown Lakeland. Saturday, March 11.

Pick Strawberries! Eat Strawberries! Strawberry Festival!

Strawberry season in Florida is in full swing in early March! Check out our list of farms for Strawberry Picking Near You within a 1-hour drive from Lakeland.

March 2 – 12 – Enjoy strawberry creations, rides, games, and exhibits at the Strawberry Festival in Plant City.

Lakeland Magic + Spectator Sports in March
