After years of performing on the stage and on the screen, Karissa Barber’s practical experience takes learning out of the theoretical and into real life. Private acting coaching (for the stage, film or public speaking) or audition prep sessions (for Harrison or college theatre programs) are available from professional actress Karissa Barber with 14+ years of experience in her home studio in south Lakeland.

We are passionate about teaching our piano students to become well rounded musicians. We focus on helping our students play the music they love, while enjoying every step of the way.

Adagio Youth Orchestra is a new youth orchestra for ages 7 – 18 with the goal of providing music education to string students who do not have an orchestra program at their school, are looking to expand their repertoire and to learn the basics of orchestra performance, or simply to play for fun while being challenged!

AGT Athletics creates a positive environment empowering children of all ages to explore and develop their talents. Our goal is to provide a safe education, enrichment, and youth program. Broadway Beginnings exposes students (ages 7+) to master artists in the performing arts industry while fostering a community of connection rooted in trust.  Founded by Elizabeth Burton Lyons, Broadway Beginnings offers Weekend Workshops, featuring a diverse collection of entertainment industry professionals, and private coaching sessions (voice, dance, and acting) that focus on technique, repertoire, and audition preparation; private coaching sessions allow for the time and attention needed to develop each student’s unique skill set.

We believe piano lessons should be fun, creative, and engaging. We take time to learn about your student, and use creative materials and resources to help them engage and learn in the best ways. We teach piano lessons kids LOVE! Piano lessons are available Monday through Thursday, from 10am-7pm. Lessons for ages 3 – adult.

The Coleman-Bush Building is a multi-purpose facility with attractive amenities including several rooms serving as rental space, meeting rooms, classrooms and a dance studio. The City of Lakeland offers eSports – Gamers Club at Simpson Park Community Center. The goal of this program is to provide a venue to the community for both the video game enthusiast and novice, accessible to all. We are dedicated to providing a safe space for all ages to utilize technology, interact with others, and HAVE FUN!

Kelly Recreation Complex is a 30,000+ square foot facility that provides a variety of features and offers the residents of Lakeland (and visitors) access to a diverse selection of recreation activities. Programs offered at Kelly Rec include pre-ballet for kids, adult dance classes (latin, swing, belly dance, line dance, salsa), martial arts, basketball, chess, sewing, guitar, etiquette, and more.

Simpson Park Community Center Features: Two (2) multipurpose rooms, Game room, Kitchen, Separate men’s & women’s weight rooms, Study hall facility, Computer center, Spacious gymnasium which houses two full-size basketball courts, Tennis court, Two (2) basketball courts, Playground, Softball field.

This indoor/outdoor facility allows the Parks and Recreation Department the opportunity to provide comprehensive recreation programming to suit the varied needs and interests of the North Lakeland Community. Instructional classes, sports leagues, recreational play, fitness and special event programming ensure constant activities.

Simpson Park Pool is also located at the Community Center and is open seasonally from late Spring through early Fall.
