While we certainly don’t expect you to do ALL the things on this calendar, we do hope it helps you and your family find a few special things to enjoy this holiday season in Lakeland and Central Florida.

1. * Get into the holiday spirit at the Downtown Lakeland Holiday Walkabout on December 1, First Friday on December 4, and Festive Fridays on December 11 and 18. (The Christmas Lights in Munn Park are some of our favorites!)

2. Find a Christmas Tree or visit a Christmas Tree Farm

3. * See a performance of the Nutcracker – including Russian Ballet Orlando at the Polk Theatre (12/5) and Florida Dance Theatre’s Nutcracker Spectacular outdoors at SUN ‘n FUN (12/12)

4. * It will be SNOWING in Lakeland on December 4 and 5 at SNOWFEST – this event is being held in the evening this year along the Promenade at Lake Mirror

5. * See Santa Fly In at the SUN ‘n FUN Holiday Flying Festival and Car Show on December 4 and 5

6. Enjoy live Christmas music at a Christmas Concert (lots of outdoor and virtual options are available this year)

7. Visit a Holiday Market or Craft Fair to shop local and support our community’s makers

8. * Sign up for a phone call from Santa on December 8 (register by 12/4)

9. Social distance at one of the Outdoor Holiday Events or Walk Through Christmas Light Displays in Lakeland and Central Florida

10. Take Photos with Santa or meet him at an event

11. * See Elf The Musical at Lakeland Community Theatre (Dec. 4-6, 11-13)

12. * Attend a holiday parade in Polk County (the Lakeland Christmas Parade and Havendale Parade have been canceled for 2020, but others are still happening)

13. * Attend a Menorah Lighting during Chanukah (Hanukkah). Chabad Jewish Center will light a giant Menorah in Lakeland (12/13), Winter Haven (12/14) and Lake Ashton (12/15)

14. Watch your favorite TV Specials and Christmas Movies at a local event / theatre or at home

15. Sign up for a fun camp for kids over Winter Break.

16. * Sign up for a holiday themed 5k race

17. Visit Bok Tower Gardens or LEGOLAND Florida for holiday-themed fun at these popular local attractions

18. Stroll around the brand new Starlight Nights light displays in Downtown Winter Haven and enjoy the light tunnels.

19. Donate toys and holiday gifts to families in need.

20. Plan a Day Trip (or night trip) towards the Tampa or St. Pete / Clearwater area to enjoy a holiday event including the Christmas Trail, Christmas in the Wild at ZooTampa, the Christmas Village at Curtis Hixon Park and light displays along the Riverwalk, and more. Plan a Day Trip (or evening trip) to Orlando to enjoy Holiday Festivitivies including Night of a Million Lights, Now Snowing in Celebration, the Disney Springs Christmas Tree Trail, Christmas at Gaylord Palms, and more.

21. Perform Random Acts of Kindness (we’ve got a list with 25 kid-friendly ideas)

22. Go Ice Skating with friends or family

23. Take a drive to see Christmas Lights

24. Track Santa on Christmas Eve

25. Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
