The Polk County Sheriff’s Office offers opportunities for teens and women to learn how to defend themselves through a FREE Personal Safety and Women’s Basic Self Defense Class. The class consists of lecture (approximately 15 minutes) and hands-on techniques (approximately 45 minutes). Attendees will demonstrate all of the techniques on a body opponent bag (B.O.B.) which will be supplied.

Teaching creative play and socialization through dance movements. Introduction to ballet vocabulary & positions. Dancers learn direction, grace, poise, tempo, and how to work as a group. Classes run for 6 weeks. Beginner Ballet (ages 6-8) and Move Together Caregiver + Child Classes (ages 1-6) are also available.

Prodigy is a research-based prevention and diversion program for at-risk students in grades 1 through 12. Prodigy uses visual and performing arts as a way to reach over 3,000 students (annually) who live in high-risk neighborhoods.
